What is actually inside the housing, and why it decides whether a device gets used twice or two hundred times.

Air compression
Compression devices use a small pump to inflate chambers in a sequence, usually foot to thigh, then release them. You choose the pressure and the pattern. What you feel is a firm, moving squeeze rather than vibration. Pressure ranges and modes vary by device and are listed on each product page.

Percussion and kneading
Massage devices use a motor to drive either a percussive head or rotating nodes across a muscle group. We tune ours for a deep, even stroke rather than raw speed, and for noise low enough to use in a shared room.

LED light
LED devices deliver specific wavelengths of visible and near-infrared light to the surface of the skin. Different wavelengths sit at different depths, which is why most routines combine them rather than picking one. The bands most commonly used in at-home devices are red at roughly 630-660 nm, near-infrared at roughly 830-850 nm, and blue at roughly 415-465 nm.

Heat
Where a device includes warmth, it is spread across the contact surface rather than concentrated in one spot, with a controlled upper limit.

Power
Some devices run from a mains cable, others from a rechargeable battery over USB-C. Which one applies is listed in the specifications on each product page.

Materials
Skin-contact surfaces are chosen to be wiped clean daily and to still look right after a year of it.
